Malachi 3:1-4; Philippians 1L3-11; Luke 3:1-6

Stop.  Look.  Listen.  I don’t know where little pieces of guiding wisdom like this are taught or explained nowadays.  I think I learned about this warning in elementary school.  Then again, maybe it was simple curiosity, peaked by seeing those white, diagonal, warning crosses with those words blackened on them at places where the railroad intersected the highway.  Evidently in my young mind there was something about this warning sign worth remembering; and now I realize that it is also a good reminder of Advent and its meaning.
